Lillo named Pep's City assistant

1.85传奇sfManchester City have confirmed that Juanma Lillo has joined Pep Guardiola's coaching staff as assistant manager. The 54-year-old had been managing Chinese outfit Qingdao Huanghai but accepted an offer to move to the Etihad to replace Mikel Arteta, who is now in charge at Arsenal.Lillo has enjoyed a long coaching career as head coach of several clubs in his native Spain, including Real Zaragoza and Real Sociedad, as well as a number of overseas teams.Guardiola knows his new number two well, having played under him during a brief spell at Mexican club Dorados de Sinaloa towards the end of his career.Speaking to Manchester City's official website, Lillo praised Guardiola and said he is keen to contribute to a successful future for the club: "My relationship with Pep goes back many years and I am thrilled to be joining him as part of this exciting team."Manchester City has enjoyed much success over recent seasons and played a brand of beautiful football we have come to expect from this club and its manager."Man City are 4/11 to beat Arsenal at the Etihad next Wednesday with the Gunners 13/2 and the draw a 17/4 chance.

Sibley outlines England aims

England opening batsman Dominic Sibley is aiming for further improvement as he bids to nail down a spot at the top of the order this summer. The 24-year-old made his Test debut for England over the winter and initially struggled on the two-Test tour of New Zealand, scoring just 38 runs from three innings.However, Sibley quickly made amends on the tour to South Africa, compiling a fine unbeaten 133 in the second Test to help England square the series in Cape Town.Warwickshire man Sibley, who struck 1,324 runs in the 2019 County Championship to force his way into the England Test team, is fighting several others for a place in the side.Rory Burns, Zak Crawley and Keaton Jennings were among those named in England's 55-man training squad but Sibley believes competition is healthy."You talk to people who have played way more games than I have and constantly you've got to keep proving yourself over and over again because there's so many different challenges in cricket," he told Sky Sports.England are just 1/9 to emerge victorious from the three-Test home series against West Indies which starts at the Ageas Bowl on 8 July.
